Middlesex Province of the Scarlet Cord

The creation of an Independent Sovereign Order with the title of “The Ancient and Masonic Order of the Scarlet Cord in the British Isles and its Districts and Consistories Overseas” took place in a magnificent ceremony in the Grand Temple of Freemasons’ Hall, London, on 21st July 2010.

A close link is maintained with the Order of the Secret Monitor as it is a requirement of admission to the Scarlet Cord that candidates must be Princes in the Order of the Secret Monitor. 

The Province of Middlesex currently has three Consistories.
The first, Fraternal Union Consistory No. 60 TI, was consecrated on 29th June 2010 which, being before the Order itself was inaugurated, accords it “Time Immemorial” status.
The second, Northwick Circle Consistory No. 97, and the third, Middlesex Consistory No. 105 were both consecrated by the Grand Summus.

As every Province must have a minimum of three Consistories, the creation of the third unit allowed Middlesex to progress from being an “Inspectorate” to the full status of a Province.

The Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler for the OSM in Middlesex, R.Wy.Bro.Trevor P. Dutt, RD, is also the R.Dist. Provincial Grand Summus in the Middlesex Scarlet Cord Province.
